When I stepped into the left seat there was nobody with me. My builder helper was in the RV4 behind. Winds stayed up with gusts so I decided to wait until evening.

Yes, N23EM took to the air today. No pictures but plenty of onlookers. Things happened pretty quickly this morning so no one was in place to document.
What I hope today is that all Americans remembered the events on this day on 9/11/01. Americans were united that day and for some time thereafter. Let’s hope it doesn’t take another catastrophe to bring us together again.
Again, thanks to everyone for there support and interest during the course of the build. Now, if I can just land this darn thing!!

Seats finally arrived. Have to hand it to Oregon Aero.
Getting ready to pull the RV on the scales. A bit nose heavy but more than acceptable.
These last two pics are for those who didn’t like the blue protective covering on the aluminum
It has been a long time coming and long hours. The DAR arrives tomorrow to inspect the plane for the Airworthiness Certificate. This day began over 20 years ago while walking through the fields of RVs at Airventure. I am going to take this opportunity to thank some people. My wife, of course, and my present, immediate family. Also, Doug and Bob up in Ohio along with my flying family in and around Fort Smith, Arkansas. Three years ago I thought my flying days were over. God is still in the miracle business.

All lighting is in each wingtip.
This is a shot of the G3Xs during the first start. We spent most of Friday configuring the G3Xs.
August 20, 2020
Final checks before pushing plane out. Video too long to insert. No squawks during the run up.
August 21, 2020
Add all the above to an uneventful first start on 8/20/2020 and we can see the finish line.
August 13, 2020
Added avionics inspection panels.
Beginning to put the finishes touches on the baffling. Three days of work.
Took most of the day today to finish the aileron trim. 8/13/2020.

So meticulous and so important. But really boring. We spent all day on this and probably are half complete.
July 28, 2020 thru July 30, 2029
And that is what we did in three days. All the parts we have been working on to make an airplane look like one. Both wings just slid into the center section and the bolts were lined up. We also had to arrange some wiring and order a few parts…and no one ruined any parts. Next big project will be the cowl.
July 28, 2020
May not look like it but remember the wings are finished waiting for mounting, empennage is pretty much complete, much of the wiring is complete. Also the engine is mounted and in the process of installing cables and probes. Use your imagination and you might see an inspection in the next 3 weeks! I will make contact with the DAR tomorrow.
