It Happened!

9-11-2020

Yes, N23EM took to the air today. No pictures but plenty of onlookers. Things happened pretty quickly this morning so no one was in place to document.

What I hope today is that all Americans remembered the events on this day on 9/11/01. Americans were united that day and for some time thereafter. Let’s hope it doesn’t take another catastrophe to bring us together again.

Again, thanks to everyone for there support and interest during the course of the build. Now, if I can just land this darn thing!!

Getting ready to pull the RV on the scales. A bit nose heavy but more than acceptable.

These last two pics are for those who didn’t like the blue protective covering on the aluminum

It has been a long time coming and long hours. The DAR arrives tomorrow to inspect the plane for the Airworthiness Certificate. This day began over 20 years ago while walking through the fields of RVs at Airventure. I am going to take this opportunity to thank some people. My wife, of course, and my present, immediate family. Also, Doug and Bob up in Ohio along with my flying family in and around Fort Smith, Arkansas. Three years ago I thought my flying days were over. God is still in the miracle business.

May not look like it but remember the wings are finished waiting for mounting, empennage is pretty much complete, much of the wiring is complete. Also the engine is mounted and in the process of installing cables and probes. Use your imagination and you might see an inspection in the next 3 weeks! I will make contact with the DAR tomorrow.
